The acts byFirst of May They took place this Friday in the main cities of the country, and although official propaganda insists on showing them as society's support for the government of Miguel Díaz-Canel, the images reflect a fairly low participation.

Officially in Havana, about 100 thousand people attended the event that took place on the boardwalk, which represents 5% of the total population living in the capital.

In addition to Díaz-Canel, Army General Raúl Castro and other political and government leaders were present at that meeting.

During the central speech, the general secretary of the Cuban Workers' Union, Ulises Guilarte, reiterated that the suspension of the May Day paradeIt was related to the energy crisis that the country is going through, without fuel or immediate solutions, and that the organization of the event was also postponed to this Friday, for somesupposed adverse weather conditions, which never happened.

Likewise, he insisted on accusing the independent media of distorting the truth about what is happening in the country and not showing the support that the communist government receives from the population.

After carrying out a review of some state media and official accounts on social networks, it can be observed that the participation of Cubans in these May Day events is not massive and many of those who went to the rallies are state workers, who In exchange, they will enjoy a day of work break.
