The Mexican authoritiesThey rescued a Cuban migrant who was part of a group of 50 undocumented immigrants who were kidnapped in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, last Monday, while they were traveling on a bus from Chiapas.

The Mexican president,Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO),advertisement This Thursday in its usual "morning" conference that 49 migrants from Cuba, Venezuela, Honduras, Brazil and other countries were rescued.

Among those saved are 23 men, 15 women, six boys and five girls, but testimonies from the migrants indicate that there were 52 people on the bus, 50 migrants and two drivers.

“The migrants who were missing in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, they have already been recovered and rescued,” said AMLO.

Since Tuesday, the authorities were rescuing these undocumented immigrants and this Thursday a group of 34 (14 women, 10 men and 10 minors) was found on Highway 57, on the borders between San Luis Potosí and Nuevo León,reported the Attorney General's Office of San Luis Potosí.

Luis Cresencio Sandoval, Secretary of National Defense, clarified that initially, on Tuesday, nine migrants were located in Doctor Arroyo, a municipality in Nuevo León, and later, on Wednesday, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, another six.

“The first migrants gave us the information that they had arrived at a gas station to refuel, and from there they had been approached by members of organized crime, that was the only information that had been initially obtained,” Sandoval explained in the morning.

In El Tajo, Nuevo León, another one was located and finally, this Thursday, they recovered 33, according to their information, which does not agree with the data offered by the San Luis Potosí Prosecutor's Office.

"Some were found walking and others in some facilities, in some houses that were there in the area. We have no detainees, but (the investigations) continue. The migrants will obviously give us some information that can help us identify the people who did this,” said the Secretary of National Defense.

Testimonials of the victims clarified that the kidnapping occurred when the bus in which they were traveling to Nuevo León, coming from Chiapas, was boarded by members of organized crime in the “Los Medina” area, a town near Doctor Arroyo.

According to what they told the authorities, the kidnappers argued that that bus had already passed through the area several times without “reporting.”

Isaí, a Honduran migrant, said that a member of the criminal group called the owner of the bus and "offered her 40 thousand pesos and told her that only our food would cost us, so maybe she didn't want to negotiate with him," and They were taken to a house where they were detained.

The location was discovered in an operation with agents from the Secretariat of National Defense, for six hours, using the Potosí state helicopter.

On the way to the Mexico-United States border, migrants are victims of kidnappings by traffickers who transport them in overcrowded conditions and end up being detained by Mexican authorities.

Earlier this month, another group of113 undocumented, who were extorted and kidnapped by five people in a home in the El Mezquite neighborhood, were rescued by the police.

Among them were several Cubans held captive in the municipality of San Luis Río Colorado, in the border state of Sonora.
