The Russians are back. Oh, how scary!

Political fiction continues to haunt Cuba to the delight of the olive-green and guayaberada caste, which is enjoying the ballot with the efforts of political scientists and analysts; eager to draw a geopolitics that only exists in their heads.

While some and others frolic with the animated fantasies of crony communism, Washington once again marked the card of late Castroism, certifying that does not fully cooperate in the fight against terrorism.

International relations are pure and simple interests; There is no such thing as ethics or mercy, as Putin and the West demonstrate in Ukraine; and it is surprising that there is so much hullabaloo interested in an option that is not on the agenda of the Kremlin, which preserves the graves of Fidel Castro in its archives as indelible lessons.

Russia is not interested in Cuba for the following reasons:

2.- Russia remains bogged down in Ukraine and no sane person opens a front with a power like the United States; being involved in a war.

3.- The main argument used by Moscow to invade Ukraine is the expansion of NATO into its area of influence and the alignment of kyiv with the West. How would you then justify returning to Cuba, located 180 kilometers from the southeastern coast of the United States?

4.- Cuba has nothing to offer Moscow, only plantains and nostalgia for the Lourdes base, Angelito and Leónov, who could not stand Putin, as he made clear in more than one interview.

5.- Apart from bombastic statements such as gratitude for Cuba's "full understanding" of the invasion of Ukraine; Russia uses Cuba to negotiate the payment of Venezuela's large debt, immersed in a remarkable rapprochement with Washington. In exchange, it would give alms to Havana so that it can endure until the next woman and the last fight.

6.- Bowling is neither friendly nor welcome in Cuba, where the majority of its inhabitants see the United States as the promised land, which welcomes millions of supportive emigrants and sympathizes more with Betty Boop than with the Russian dolls. Sympathy has increased significantly since the ruin caused by the fall of the USSR.
