Yulianela López Martínez, the mother of young Cuban Jeankarlos Antonio López López, asked for justice for her son supposedly murdered a month ago in the Combinado del Este in Havana.

In an emotional message published onFacebook The woman promised the 22-year-old that his death "will not go unpunished."

"Today marks a month since your departure, my child, you were, are and will always be my first love, then come Jeisson and Jennifer, your brothers. Now I am with tears in my eyes, trying to be strong for your brothers; but you I swearthat your death is not going to remain where all the murders and injustices committed in prisons remain.", he claimed.

He said that "at some point international human rights have to listen to me and follow up on your case and my complaints."

On June 18, López Martínez accused the authorities of the Combinado del Este prison in Havana of "murdering" his son and denying him access to his official obituary documentation.

Heboy was brutally beaten and he died on May 30, after spending two months in prison, where he was constantly harassed, according to the family statement.

The woman maintains that her son was "murdered" in that Cuban prison and as proof she has photos of the injuries left all over his body, causing internal injuries that were not properly treated.

"Today, June 30, it's been a month since your autopsy was performed and still no one has given me an answer about anything, and when I say nothing I mean the death certificate, the death certificate and the results of the autopsy. God is fair and I know that Those who participated in the beatings that caused your death, whether they are guards or prisoners ordered by the guards, have to pay and have to be judged," he stressed.

"I don't want to take revenge on anyone, I just ask that justice be done... I love you my child (...) nothing and no one is going to stop me until the murderers are tried and punished," he concluded.

The Cuban government acknowledged last year before the United Nations Committee against Torture thatAt least 100 inmates died in the country's prisons, mainly due to coronary heart diseases.

However, the UN criticized Cuba for failing to provide complete statistical information on prisoner deaths and for failing to investigate the possible responsibility of public officials or examine signs of bodily violence during autopsies.

At the beginning of June, the organizationJustice 11J denounced the death of Jeankarlos Antonio López López, the fifth to that moment of inmates in state custody.

In March, the death of common prisoner Kevin Canlo Morales was learned, after receiving a beating in the Quivicán prison, where he was serving his sentence, and Yuleiki Menéndez Montero, one of the prison managers, was identified as responsible.
