This is what Yomil and El Dany's new album sounds like: "SENSEI"

The Cuban reggaeton duo Yomil and El Dany They will release a new album soon, but you can already hear fragments of the new songs, shared through social networks.

“Since the tragedy of Dany "I didn't feel in the mood to start working on our next album, but for months we slowly started working on it and I can tell you that it is almost finished," he said. Yomil this Saturday on his Instagram account.

Sharing cuts of four of the songs included on the album, the musician remembered his partner, died in July 2020 of cardiac arrest product of a thrombus, according to the official report of the medical authorities, who ruled out the coronavirus as the reason for his premature death.

“I didn't want to release Trapton songs before so that the album had our essence from the beginning; and there are still more to close, and we have many collaborations,” explained Yomil, who thanked everyone involved in the production of the album, the collaborators and his audience.

The death of Dany (31 years old) put not only the urban genre and Cuban showbiz in mourning, but millions of the artist's fans.

Considered one of the most popular and prominent figures in the Cuban music industry, his hits with Yomil topped the island's charts and many of his phrases have become part of popular slang among Cuban youth.

Both collaborated with many Cuban artists and all their concerts were packed with fans desperate to see them act, sing and dance to their hits.

The traptón of Yomil and El Dany, as its name indicates, mixes nuances of both Latin and American trap with the unmistakable beat of reggaeton, while drawing on hip hop, electronic music and some traditional Cuban sounds.

In addition to music, El Dany was also a lover of fashion. He set several standards in the style of dress among young people on the island and even launched his own clothing line, Sensei, in which he expressed his passion for urban trends.

Dany also had a well-known human side, especially in his neighborhood, where he frequently helped his neighbors and gave clothes and shoes to young people. During the coronavirus crisis, the reggaeton singer He was delivering bags with food and basic necessities to families from Key West, in Havana.

"Many are asking themselves the question of whether I am going to change the name of the group, whether I am going to work in a duo with someone else, etc, etc, etc..." Yomil wrote after the death of his partner.

"My people, this is Yomil and El Dany forever, nothing has changed here, only with the difference that Yomil is on earth and El Dany is in heaven," he added.
