The Cuban reggaeton artist Daniel Muñoz -better known as "El Dany" and a member of the popular duo Yomil y El Dany- was born on January 6, 1989, and before starting his journey in the music world, he was studying medicine.
In 2009, Daniel Muñoz and Yomil Hidalgo formed a duo known as DpuntoD and gained some recognition in nightclubs in Cuba and on social media. Although they split up in 2011, they reunited in 2015, and their first single, "Tengo," was a remix of "Truffle Butter" by Nicki Minaj.
It was released in both Cuba and Miami, and they recorded several music videos. Their debut full-length album, Doping, was released in 2015 and featured the singles "Rikaperry" and "Estamos pa to'." Their second full-length album, Sobredosis, was released in May 2016 and reached the top of the Latin Albums chart in the summer of that year. As a duo, Yomil and el Dandy were nominated for the Billboard Latin Music Award in 2017.
Among their successes are Chona, Qué daño fue quererte, El bombazo, Te paso a buscar, and Síguete Moviendo.
El Dany passed away in the early morning of Saturday, July 18 at the Calixto García hospital, allegedly due to a cardiac arrest.
