The Cuban reggaeton artist Daniel Muñoz - better known as "El Dany" and a member of the popular duo Yomil and El Dany - was born on January 6, 1989, and before entering the music scene, he was studying medicine.
In 2009, Daniel Muñoz and Yomil Hidalgo formed a duo known as DpuntoD and gained some recognition in nightclubs in Cuba and on social media. Although they separated in 2011, they reunited in 2015, and their first single, "Tengo," was a remix of "Truffle Butter" by Nicki Minaj.
It was released both in Cuba and Miami, and they recorded several music videos. Their debut album, Doping, was released in 2015 and featured the singles “Rikaperry” and “Estamos pa to’”. Their second album, Sobredosis, was released in May 2016 and reached the top of the Latin album charts that summer. As a duo, Yomil and el Dandy were nominated for the Billboard Latin Music Award in 2017.
Among their successes are Chona, Qué daño fue quererte, El bombazo, Te paso a buscar, and Síguete Moviendo.
El Dany passed away on the morning of Saturday, July 18, at the Calixto García hospital, allegedly from a cardiac arrest.
