A Cuban was arrested in the municipalityManicaragua, in the province ofVilla Clara, after during a search carried out in his home the authorities found more than 150 pounds of beef, as well as instruments and bloody clothing, allegedly resulting from theillegal slaughter of cattle.
The Facebook profile Fuerza del Pueblo, close to the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), identified the alleged slaughterer asSeverino Contrera Rodríguez.
The source indicated that the CubanHe was the author of the theft and sacrifice of six cattle from the Basic Cooperative Production Units (UBPC) El Abra, while the cattle grazed in the pasture of that state entity.
In the search of Severino Contrera's home, joint forces from the PNR and the MININT found 158 pounds of beef, as well as equipment with which he would have committed the illegal slaughter.
The note did not specify whether the alleged slaughterer is in provisional prison.
This same week, the aforementioned source reported the arrest of another citizen, a worker in that case from the Benito Juárez Agricultural Company, located in the Placetas municipality, also in Villa Clara, who was caughtin fraganti whilediverted horse meat that was intended for social purposes.
According to the official source - which did not specify the amount of confiscated horse meat - the destination of the food was "prioritized food for medical care centers, special diets at the polyclinic, social purposes, among others."
"That horse had been handed over by the police, as a result of an accident with a passenger car, with the aim of using it to feed people in vulnerable situations"added the note in that case, which identified the detainee as Duriesky Cabrera Pérez.
The citizen had several warnings for illegally using a state means of transportation for illicit businesses.
