The US Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force are searching for a small plane with a missing person on board.
The ship was last seen this Sunday 17 miles west of the island of Eleuthera, as Coast Guard agents confirmed on social media.
The missing aircraft is a Cessna 402 that left Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to the Coast Guard.
The island of Eleuthera, where the plane was last detected, is 73 miles west of Nassau.
Recently, news emerged of a fatal accident aboard a Cessna light aircraft. At least two people died due to a plummet from a small plane at North Perry Airport from Pembroke Pines, in Broward County.
According to federal authorities, the ship fell plummeted and caused the immediate death of one person and left two other survivors trapped.
The young man who was piloting the Cessna plane that crashed was identified as Felipe Becerra Cardenas and was of Mexican origin. His family is requesting a humanitarian visa to be able to travel to Florida to say goodbye to his mortal remains.
