The Mexican government will give "VIP treatment" to Cuban doctors hired to provide services in poor and remote areas, as part of a agreement with the Castro regime which has been strongly rejected by the local union and the opposition.
The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) launched two tenders to guarantee good accommodation and food conditions, and a location in areas where they are protected from the crime that exists in the country.
As reported The universalIn February, the IMSS awarded a contract with the company Accendo Industry, for a maximum amount of 380,000 pesos, for the care of 15 Cuban doctors destined to work in the state of Morelos.
The specialists were sent to the municipalities of Axochiapan, Temixco, Tetecala and Ocuituco, where they should live in a single house or independent rooms, located a maximum of 20 minutes from the hospitals where they provide service.
They must receive three meals in sufficient quantities and with healthy menus, and their rooms will have basic services such as hot and cold water, electricity, gas, Internet and garbage collection.
The second tender, from last June, refers to the "three healthy meals a day" that 50 Cuban specialists who go to the state of Guerrero must have, air conditioning, hot water, water filters, minibar and Internet access.
Regarding food, it is indicated that for breakfast you should consider juice or fruit, cereal, a main dish with animal protein (chicken, beef, egg, ham or turkey sausage), dairy products, beans, vegetables, bread or tortilla, coffee or tea and water, as well as eggs in various forms, enchiladas and quesadillas.
For lunch, soups and stews are suggested such as pork in sauce, beef tips, chicken, fish fillet, steak with potatoes and stuffed breasts, among others. For dinner they would have breads of various types, always with turkey breast or ham, egg, chicken or cottage cheese.
Until last May, already There were 700 Cuban doctors contracted in hospitals in Mexico by the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
"We thank the people and the government of Cuba, which is also helping us, because there are already 700 specialists from Cuba who are working in hospitals in Mexico," the president reported then.
A few days before, Marcos Rodríguez Costa, Cuban ambassador to the Aztec nation, announced on his Twitter account that the bilateral cooperation continues to expand, and that the number of doctors arriving from Havana will increase.
At the beginning of this year, the López Obrador government announced that would hire more doctors from the Island, who would be assigned to work in marginalized areas of 12 states of the country.
The goal would be almost double the figure of 610 sent by Cuba, thanks to "various strategies to attract" specialists.
