The Cuban Rangel Ravelo will wear for the third time the uniform of the Águilas Cibaeñas of the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (Lidom), which announced it as reinforcement for the campaign that will start in mid-October next year.
With experience of two seasons in the MLB, Ravelo comes from shining with El Paso (AAA of the San Diego Padres) to the point of averaging .310 with an OPS of .901, in a task adorned by 42 walks against 32 strikeouts.
A native of Havana, the 31-year-old player was key piece in the championship achieved by the Águilas in 2020/2021.
Ravelo has quite a journey through the Caribbean leagues, as he has also defended the colors of the Leones del Esgido (Lidom) and, on several occasions, the Venezuelan Cardenales de Lara. In addition, he twice played for the Orix Buffaloes of Japanese baseball.
Curiously, it was in other Cardinals (those from St. Louis) where he managed to fulfill his dream of going out to the Major League diamonds, something he did in 2019 and 2020.
At that level your statistics reflects a slash line of .189/.250/.351 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 42 games.
Ravelo has been playing at various levels of American professional baseball since 2010.
