Cubans Yunesky Maya and Ariel Miranda will launch in the Dominican Republic

Both pitchers spent years in the Major Leagues, each for three seasons.

The Cuban pitchers Yunesky Maya and Ariel Miranda will pitch this year in the winter ball of the Dominican Republic in defense of the colors of the Águilas Cibaeñas, who had previously acquired the services of two other elements born in the Greater Antilles, the infielders Rangel Ravelo and Cesar Prieto.

In their social networks, The team celebrated "the return of 'El Guerrero' Yunesky Maya and the hiring of left-hander Ariel Miranda as imported for the 2023-2024 season", and added that the first "will be wearing our jersey for the seventh season", while the other "will be in Dominican baseball for the first time."

Ángel Ovalles, general manager of the group, recalled that Maya "competed for the pitcher of the year award" in the previous season, and noted that "it makes us feel very good to return it; we understand that it can be a fundamental part of qualifying early and achieving a new victory for the Águilas."

Regarding Miranda, the manager classified him as "a left-hander with a long career and a lot of experience" from whom they expect "a good impact in the league."

Both pitchers spent three seasons in the Major Leagues.. In Maya's case, she did so in 2010, 2011 and 2013 with Washington, while Miranda pitched between 2016 and 2018 for Baltimore and Seattle.

After that, the right-hander from Pinar del Río has developed a successful career in different championships (including South Korea), and the sinister Havana player worked in the three main leagues in Asia, also with outstanding results.
