A Spanish influencer who is visiting Cuba these days was delighted with thecuban pizza, which he tasted for the first time in the city ofTrinidad, inHoly Spirit
Jesús Sánchez ("Jesús Sansal") - based in Holland but who amuses his followers when he tries food from other countries - demonstrated on sitehis first impressions about a food that surprised him that it is so popular in Cuba, being a dish of European origin, although certainly very popular worldwide.
"We are going to try one of the most typical things here in Cuba, I don't know why, but it turns out that pizzas are the most typical food here. Typical Cuban street food", Jesus anticipated with the grace that characterizes him and that has earned him more than 358 thousand followers inTik Tok.
The young man, a native of the province of Cádiz, in Andalusia, explained that Cuban pizza usually only has cheese, tomato and little else, but he specified that in his case he preferred to opt for a vegetable pizza to "ask for something more forcefully."
"And here the typical thing in Cuba is to take the pizza, fold it, look how it drips... and they eat it like that, as if it were a sandwich. The pizza is like super fat, it's not like the pizzas I'm used to ", he said seconds before taking his first bite.
"This is divine", "the truth is that Cuban pizza is very good"; "the cheese is great"; "Super different from the pizzas I'm used to," praised Jesús, who specified that the pizza cost him 150 pesos.
"Trinidad was beautiful, but what I liked the most was its Cuban pizza", the influencer wrote in his Instagram stories, where he stated that he ate more than one pizza in Trinidad.
In the comments section of the publication, dozens of Cubans living outside the country were nostalgic for the island's pizza, a food that many claimed was their street lunch for years.
Others were scandalized by the amount of money currently paid for a pizza in Cuba and there were also those who criticized Jesús Sánchez.
"Look at how many people who live on the island can eat that pizza," said one Internet user.
"He is only telling his experience, he does not have to understand what we Cubans experience," said another in defense of the influencer.
In recent days Jesús Sánchez already told hisexperience when trying mamoncillos and an avocado that left him pleasantlyshocked by the size, the flavor, the texture, very different from those sold in Spain.
