The driver of the Soviet-made vehicle tried to solve a malfunction in the gasoline pump using a “serum” that caused the flames.

AndPepper suffered afire on Tuesday night on Cuba's national highway after a mechanical failure and no victims reported in the incident.

The events occurred at kilometer 79 of said highway, as reported by a user on social networks sharing a video with shocking images of the accident.

Apparently, the driver of the Soviet-made vehicle tried to solve a malfunction in the gasoline pump by using a “serum” (a provisional solution that Cubans usually improvise in these cases), which caused the flames.

In images shared by the user in the groupFacebook ‘Bus & Truck Accidents. For more experience and fewer victims!' it can be seen that the fire spread to the entire car.

Vehicle fires have become more frequent in Cuba as a result of the energy crisis and fuel supply problems, which force the purchase of fuel of dubious quality on the black market.

Added to this is the lack of spare parts and maintenance for cars with years of exploitation, enhanced by the general crisis that the country is going through, with shortages, high prices and inflation that breaks the pockets of Cubans.

In mid-May of last year,a blue Lada caught fire on the Santa Clara ring road, in front of the School of Social Workers.

On the Facebook profile 'Bus and Truck Accidents', a user shared images of the accident. Firefighters had to put out the strong flames.

A year before, another Lada caught fire on the Havana boardwalk, according to a video broadcast on social networks, which allows us to see the firefighters after controlling the situation, while the police surround the car, which was completely destroyed.

According to the post, the Lada caught fire in the area of the boardwalk near the Máximo Gómez park, in Old Havana.

On the same dates,a state-owned Lada Niva caught fire on Vento Street and Boyeros Avenue, in Havana, as reported on social networks by witnesses of the event who shared photos in which the car can be seen engulfed in flames in the middle of a large smoke.
