Cuban regime seizes 200 cartons of eggs in Villa Clara

A pro-government portal praised the work of the police for discovering the transporters of the eggs.

The Cuban police made aoperational to detect transfer of eggs and they seized 200 cartons of the product in the Quivicán municipality, Mayabeque province.

In the midst of the currentfood crisis in Cuba and theinflation due to the government's erroneous economic policies,eggs They are one of the products that has increased the most in price. A carton can costup to 3,000 Cuban pesos.

An official portal highlighted the role of the police in detecting the transfer of200 egg cartons by stopping a private vehicle and "performing an inspection."

The drivers of the vehicle were arrested and taken to a police station, where they seized the merchandise and filed a complaint.

Last week one of Fidel Castro's sons,Alexis Castro Soto del Valle, in a publication about the high price of eggs, attacked the Ministry of Agriculture on social networks, insisting that the state body must provide answers for the food shortages in Cuba.

He said that the official press denounced the increase in the price of this product because in his opinion Fidel taught that "the biggest critics have to be the revolutionaries themselves."

The low egg production on the island is such that thegovernment has started importing them. At the end of September, the authorities of the Dominican Republic announced that they will increase their egg exports to Cuba.
