After an 11-4 victory that sealed the Rangers' passage to their first World Series since 2011, Cuban Adolis García lifted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy of the American League (ALCS) at Minute Maid Park in Houston this Monday night.

The Texas team's cleanup hitter stole everyone's attention in Game 7 against the Houston Astros, after homering for the fourth consecutive game.

The 30-year-old from Avila He hit a couple of homers on Monday and went 4 for 5 with five RBIs.

The recognition was worth it because, in addition, in the American League Championship Series, García went 10-for-28 with five home runs and 15 RBIs, a record for a postseason series.

García, who also plays for the Rangers, also plays the Cuban pitcherAroldis Chapman, thanked his team and dedicated the title to them.

Although he was the most booed player in the last two games by the fans of the opposing team, who could not believe his effectiveness, everything faded before the chants of "MVP" from hundreds of people who traveled 250 miles from the field of the Texas Rangers to arrive in Houston and witness the last game of the series.

"I've never seen a player get booed like he did," Rangers general manager Chris Young said after Sunday's game.

"And to see the way he responded and the way he put the team on his back and carried us, speaks once again about the character of the person. He is a tremendous player, tremendous competitor, great teammate, everything that we want." he stressed

Texas had not gone to the World Series since 2011.

Garcia finished the ALCS with 15 RBIs, a record for any postseason series.

He also became the second player in Major League history with four hits and two home runs in a winner-take-all game, joining Carlos Beltrán of the 2004 National League Division Series.

He is also the first player to drive in at least one run in six consecutive games in a postseason series.
