The team's victory this Saturday Industrial in front of Sancti Spíritus within the framework of the II Elite Cuban Baseball League was invalidated after the industrialist Yoasnier Emilio Pérez will use a non-regulation bat.

“[The game] was declared invalid because a player from the capital team “He used an ineligible bat with which he made a connection that had a decisive impact on the final score (3-2).”, explained the National Baseball Commission (CNB) in a statement dated November 18, the day the meeting took place.

The official note details that although the management of the Sancti Spiritus team made a claim for the incident at the time and proceeded to remove the bat and subject it to evaluation, the game was not stopped because "that is what is established in the official baseball rules."

After the corresponding analysis, the specialists ruled that the bat did not appear on the list allowed for the national series and the Elite League, and that “its original seal had been removed in the contact area, but not on the handle.”

In addition, it was found that the implement was reinforced with a rubber grip that exceeded the established 18 inches, which altered "the distance factor in the connection of the ball."

The player involved in the incident, Yoasnier Emilio Pérez, was sent off from the game.

The game corresponding to Saturday was played this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the fifth inning, at which time the illegal bat was used.

As determined by the entity, 30 minutes after this delay challenge concluded, the match of the day would begin, with seven innings.

After the verdict was announced, social networks were filled with accusations against the Industriales players.

The sanctioned player defended the use of the bat, claiming that he uses it only when he feels tired, since it is lighter, although he acknowledged that traditional bats have better performance.
