The lawyer of Shakira, the criminal Pau Molins, stated that his client's affair with Gerard Piqué It cost him 120 million euros.

But even more surprising were his statements on a Catalan radio in which he assured that if Shakira had fallen in love with Sergio Ramos instead of Gerard Piqué, the cost would have been considerably lower.

Interviewed exclusively for El Món, in RAC1, Molins maintained that “Shakira's love affair has cost him 120 million euros. Falling in love with Sergio Ramos would have cost him much less money”.

The singer's agreement with the Spanish justice system It carries a sentence of three years in prison for six tax crimes, each with a sentence of six months. However, the penalty was avoided by paying almost eight million euros in fines.

However, according to Molins, the total cost has been exorbitant due to the taxes and fines associated with his residence in Barcelona. According to the star's lawyer, residence in Catalonia has influenced the case, since three of the six tax crimes to which he pleaded guilty are considered criminal figures in that Community and not in others.

"If you are a resident of Catalonia, you can go to prison for a crime that would not put you in jail in Madrid with the same conduct," said Molins, criticizing the fiscal disparity between regions in Spain.

Shakira faced accusations of not paying taxes in Spain between 2011 and 2015, a period in which she settled in the country. In the interview, Molins defended that the singer had no intention of defrauding the Treasury, and referred to the complexity that global artists face when determining where they should pay taxes due to their international tours.

Although the lawyer expressed his willingness to defend her during the trial, Shakira chose to avoid it, prioritizing the well-being of her children and wanting to leave her relationship with Spain behind.

Regarding rumors of a business network to evade taxes, Molins denied them, arguing that Shakira had an international business structure for efficiency reasons, not to hide income.
