Several injured after a gas cylinder exploded in a home in Matanzas

Several people were injured this Saturday after a gas cylinder exploded in a home in Matanzas, local press reported.

The Radio Matancera station stated in that it was a domestic incident in a home in Jovellanos, where a gas cylinder exploded.

The injured, whose number is not specified, were taken to the hospital in that territory. The severity of the injuries is unknown.

Firefighters went to the scene and managed to control the fire.

The house involved in the fire is #3407 B of the Horacio Rodríguez Popular Council.

The main authorities of the municipality arrived at the site, led by the first Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party, Edgar Ferrera Correa.

This week one person was also injured ina fire that broke out on Wednesday night in a home in the city of Santa Clara.

The incident occurred in a house located on Ciclón Street between Barcelona and Alejandro Oms, in the capital of the province of Villa Clara, and its origin was possibly "a leak of liquefied gas from the cylinder" of domestic fuel, as explained by communicator Henry Omar Pérez in a post on Facebook.
