The series Aida and each of his characters conquered the public in Cuba, so much so that the actor Paco León, who gave life to the witty Luisma, never ceases to marvel at the affection of Cubans, including those who reside in Miami.
In an interview for The Voice of America The Spanish artist confessed that he is still surprised when he walks through the streets of Miami and many people, “especially Cubans,” stop him to talk to him or ask for a photo.
The actor, who was once in Cuba, recalled that on the island through the package “there are entire families who consume an episode of the series daily. Aida And I think Luisma had a deep impact there.”
When the journalist asked him how he takes the reactions of the Cuban public upon seeing him on the street, he added: “It no longer surprises me because I have been in Cuba too and it is very heavy and here it depends on the areas as well.”
Last November the actor, who has just released the comedy Husbands, was in Miami and in a video he published on his Instagram he said that “It is incredible the number of people who have seen here Aida and what they love Luisma”, some words to which hundreds of Cubans reacted, explaining how much the series is watched in their country.
In 2021, in the midst of the health crisis triggered by COVID-19, Paco León was one of the artists who stood in solidarity with the Cuban people.
