Cuban firefighters managed to control a fire that occurred on Friday night in an uninhabited building on Perseverancia and San Lázaro streets, Central Havana, the causes of which are being investigated.
The "Municipal Assembly of Popular Power Central Havana" inFacebook reported that the incident occurred in "an uninhabited building" at the aforementioned address of the Dragones popular council and no associated damages were reported.
The fire was "controlled in a few moments," the note details.
No further details of the incident have been released. It is unknown if there were people spending the night there.
Last June, a raging fire ended the lives of theseven members of a family resident very close to that neighborhood, due to the explosion of several electric motorcycles inside the house.
Another tragic event occurred in March in a house in that same Havana municipality, where two people died when a motorbike caught fire.
The Cuban regime has also recognized the alarming increase in suicides in the last two years, as a result of the serious economic and migration crisis that the island is going through.
On January 10, a fire broke out in a home at San Miguel #106 between Industria and Amistad, also in theCentral Havana municipality, as reported on social networks by the Municipal Assembly of People's Power.
The aforementioned source indicated that there were no deaths as a result of the incident and that the causes of the fire, which was put out by firefighters, are being investigated.
