The recentTriumph of Tiburones de la Guaira in the final of the 2024 Caribbean Series held in Miami, showed the joy of the CubanYasiel Puig for the victory achieved by his team, who did not hesitate to celebrate it with Venezuelan drums.

“This music kept me happy since I arrived. Only then did I want to leave the stadium. Thank you guys for this surprise and for the unconditional support,” Puig wrote on the X social network.

Along with his words, “Caballo Loco” as the man from Cienfuegos is known, shared a video where he can be seen dancing to the rhythm of the drums and also posing with some fans who came to immortalize the meeting with the Cuban reinforcement.

This Sunday, the Sharks arrived in Venezuela, where they were received with great joy by their supporters who filled the roads where the caravan passed.

Along with a small video published on X, Puig also wrote: “What was promised is what is fulfilled. Look what we bring you.”

In a publication made on Instagram, the Cuban gardener had words of gratitude for Venezuela, a country that welcomed him like another son.

“Thank you Venezuela for so much love. Love gave me strength, I felt all of you at every moment. We did it as a team for you. “I love you, and I will see you in October,” he said.

Puig, 33 years old, was a fundamental piece for the Tiburones de La Guaira team, in their Venezuelan Professional Baseball League title, which they had not obtained since the 1985-86 season.

During this tournament, “Caballo Loco” came into action in 25 games, with 91 times at bat, 24 runs scored, 38 hits, seven doubles, a triple and 10 home runs, perhaps the department where he attracted the most attention. The average of the Cuban reinforcement was .418, according to thestatistics published by the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).

In the final of the Caribbean Series, Puig made a good catch in the first inning off a Dawel Lugo liner, and apparently hurt his right leg. However, the director of Tiburones, Ozzie Guillén, decided to leave him for the rest of the game, in which his team defeated the Tigres del Licey (Dominican Republic) 3-0 to be crowned champions at the loanDepot park in Miami.

The Cuban outfielder also contributed a single at the end of the fourth inning against Tigers starter César Valdez. There he was clearly seen limping from home to first, which caused Guillén to replace him with pinch-runner Odúbel Herrera.
