Fishermen capture impressive gathering of sharks in Florida waters

The images sparked a debate online, with conflicting opinions about whether the State faces a problem with the growth of the shark population.

The occupants of a boat that was sailing at night through Florida waters captured images of a large stain ofsharks that apparently hunted fish around them.

The video, shared by the events siteOnly in Dade, generated a heated controversy over whether the so-called Sunshine State faces a problem with sharks, something that could hinder the tourist attraction of its keys and beaches.

The impressive images appear to have been filmed in the vicinity of another industrial fishing vessel, so it is possible that the sharks' eating frenzy was a consequence of human fishing activity in Key West waters.

Florida has ranked No. 1 in the number of shark bites for decades, according to data from trackingsharks.com.

Florida's 16 cases in 2022 represent 39% of the U.S. total and 28% of unprovoked bites worldwide, according to the Florida Museum. Florida's annual average over the past five years is 22 incidents.

Days ago, Florida fishermenThey captured a great white shark off the coast near the city of Miami, in a tense moment that they managed to record with their cell phones and then spread it on social networks. The shark was released to return to its natural habitat.

In mid-January,three hammerhead sharks caused stupor when they reached the same shore from a beach in Florida, where bathers couldn't believe what they saw. The event happened at dusk on Anna Maria Island, a barrier island located off the coast of Manatee County.
