Man in critical condition in Miami after being shot while his home was robbed

The victim possibly knew the attackers, police revealed.


Miami-Dade police are searching for two people who forced their way into an apartment to rob and shot a man who was in the home several times, leaving him seriously injured.

The shooting took place shortly after 3:40 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment at 740 Northwest 95th Street.

Police said that before fleeing the building - in which elderly and "disabled" adults reside -The robbers took several of the victim's personal items, including abulldog Englishman named Cleo.

Investigators spent several hours in the building interviewing residents, who are concerned about safety.

Neighbors said in statements to the local press that they were surprised that the shooting occurred in what they describe as a “quiet area.”

There is no description of the suspects. The police think that The victim possibly knew them, he opened the door to his house and that was when they attacked him to commit the robbery.

In another similar incident, a man and woman face charges of attempted murder and armed robbery after shooting a 31-year-old man in Hialeah last Thursday.

In that case, Thais Lemos Busqueriollo, 30, of Palmetto Bay; and Manuel Alejandro Vázquez, 35, of Pembroke Pines, went to the victim's house in search of objects that allegedly belonged to the woman.

When the victim left the house, the man accompanying Thais Lemos shot him, wounding him in the arm. They both fled before the police arrived. In that case, it was the injured victim who identified the attackers to the police, which facilitated the arrest of the suspects.
