The Holguín Food Production and Distribution Company decided to increase its production and economic activity relying on the employment ofrenewable energy sources.

This was announced by the official mediaRebel Youth, indicating that thestate company aims to reduce electricity consumption and implement a change in the energy matrixthat allows them to increase their production levels.

With the country plunged into the greatest socioeconomic crisis in its history and Cubans suffering like never before from the scourges ofhunger and theelectrical power outages, the Provincial Food Production and Distribution Company (Numa) proposed to take a risky step in search of the energy and food “sovereignty” promoted by the Cuban regime.

“We will continue to seek sovereignty and energy management, based on the examination of a diagnosis applied from science and the link with our University, in order to identify possibilities and modernization actions,” he declared.Kirenia Balada, CEO of Numa.

According to his words, the company is working on the first stage of installing solar panels to produce 2.4 kW and eight solar heaters in municipal centers, “verifying daily energy savings and an impact on productivity.”

The provincial authorities demanded that the Holguín company “turn to the collective intelligence of the sector, and dedicate more time to what is available in terms of resources, what is new and the potential.”

In addition, they urged them to "take advantage of endogenous raw materials (including agricultural ones) and productive chains and the revitalization of their 186 units, located throughout Holguín."

It seems that the authorities andCuban official press They believe in the power of "creative resistance", "collective intelligence" and inthe strategy for the "energy transition in Cuba" of the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel, beyond empirical evidence.

With the population distressed by the blackouts and food shortages, the Palace propagandists continue selling smoke in their desire to manipulate public opinion, combining - as on this occasion - "hunger with the desire to eat."
