The Government of Villa Clara promised through a note from the Electric Company in the province, not to extend the blackouts more than 12 hours a day after the departure of the SEN from the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Plant.

The note published this Thursday reported a change in the programming of electrical damages due to a deficit in generation capacity, with the aim of avoiding breakdowns due to overload during peak hours. Among the novelties, it includes impacts of six hours or more on electricity per block and the promise not to extend blackouts more than 12 hours a day.

During the morning, the company also shared details of the rotation of power outages scheduled every six hours in the province.

The situation with the electrical system has worsened considerably withthe output of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant, the largest in the country, for more than two weeks in March.

The UNE announced on January 24 that the plant would leave the system "to clean the heaters of regenerative air and solve minor defects for a period of 72 hours.

The company has been reporting a generation capacity deficit close to orgreater than 1000 MW, which translates into blackouts of more than 14 hours.
