Caught on camera: Wallet stolen from a woman traveling on a motorbike in Miami

The authorities ask for help to find the thief and his accomplices


Miami police are searching for a man who snatched a purse from a woman who was a passenger on a scooter. The victim was carrying approximately $1,500 in cash and his belongings.

The incident occurred on February 18, shortly after 2:00 a.m., although it was not until now that the video of the assault was released.

The surveillance cameras of a home near 28th Street and 19th Avenue in northwest Miami captured the moment when, while waiting at a traffic light, a man got out of a silver Hyundai Elantra that was behind the motorbike and He snatched the purse that the victim had hanging on the shoulder, who fell to the ground during the struggle with the thief.

Mike Vega, spokesman for the Miami police, stated in statements collected byAmerica Camel that the woman hit her head when she fell.

“She did not suffer serious injuries, but she was treated at the scene,” Vega said.

After snatching the victim's purse,As the subject saw that the driver of the motorcycle fell behind him, instead of returning to the vehicle, what he did was flee in another direction.

The car he was traveling in followed him until the thief managed to get into the car and escape the scene along Northwest 18th Avenue, according to the police spokesperson.

The authorities are searching for the thief and his two companions, who could be another man and a woman.

The police recommendation to those traveling in light vehicles is to keep their bag in a place that is not visible.
