Members of the Cuban exile in Miami called for a "walk for freedom" that will take place on 8th Street starting at 10:00 am next Sunday, March 24.
This initiative seeks to express solidarity with the Cuban protesters who took to the streets last weekend to protest against the regime in provinces such as Santiago de Cuba and Granma, the channel reported Univision.
The call arises in support of the massive protests that took place on the island, where citizens demanded freedom and political changes, Orlando Gutiérrez, of the Resistance Assembly, said in a press conference.
The participants will leave from the Antorcha to Brigade 0506 on Calle Ocho and Third Avenue, walking to the House of the Cuban Political Prisoner, he noted.
The Cuban rapper The Funky He was present at the press conference and released a musical song composed to support a national strike on the island: "Cuba is in a stoppage," says the song.
The call for this solidarity march highlights the continued support of the Cuban-American community in Miami to the fight for freedom and change in the Caribbean nation, Gutiérrez stressed.
