“I hope God has you in a wonderful place... You will always be for me a warrior, a fighter, an example to follow. Your little children were left alone and that hurts me more than anything in this life. Rest in peace my life, I adore you, my queen,” she said heartbroken.

The communicator Niover Licea reported in his digital profiles that Pedroza was murdered by his ex-partner, whom he identified as Rafael Diaz Estrada.

Licea reported that the man hid behind the victim's house and, taking advantage of the fact that Pedroza's current husband had gone out into the street, he entered the house and attacked her with a mocha.

According to his version, which cites sources close to the deceased, Díaz cut the woman's face, arm and neck, causing her instant death. After the crime, the individual surrendered to the police.

The authorities have not provided official information about this case, which adds to the crimes against women committed in Cuba in so far this year.

The independent feminist observatories Yo SíTeCreo in Cuba and Alas Tensas have recorded From January to date, 14 femicides in the country. In addition, they point out that five other cases need access to the police investigation: one alert in Santiago de Cuba, one in Manzanillo, one in Granma, one in Ciego de Ávila and two in Havana.

Both platforms have accounted 220 femicides in Cuba since 2019, of which 89 occurred last year.
