Report of alleged gunman at Miami's Dolphin Mall was false

Authorities reviewed surveillance videos from the Dolphin Mall and found no evidence of the shooter's existence.


Moments of panic were experienced this Sunday in theDolphin Mall, in northwest Miami-Dade County, when false reports were made of the presence of aactive shooter.

Dozens of police and rescue teams showed up at the establishment located in the city of Sweetwater, the channel reported.Telemundo.

Following reports of the alleged gunshots, Miami-Dade police sent their Technical Rescue Team to assist police.

Officers reviewed surveillance videos from the mall and found no evidence of the shooter.

Previously, a police spokesperson denied the existence of an armed person at the Dolphin Mall.

José "Pepe" Díaz, mayor of the city of Sweetwater, stated on the social network X that "no evidence was found" to corroborate the reports of shots fired.

The account ofOnly in Dade, on Instagram, showed the moment of panic where dozens of people left the Dolphin Mall in terror.

During the early hours of this Saturday,a shooting occurred at CityPlace Doral, a popular shopping center in the city located in Miami-Dade County, resulting in two deaths and seven injuries, including a police officer.

The incident began due to an argument between customers on the patio of the Martini Bar around 3:30 am. A security guard intervened and one of the participants in the dispute pulled out a gun, shot and killed him inside the same establishment.

Also recentlya man shot and killed a 25-year-old man on a bus of Miami-Dade public transportation. The incident occurred in Florida City on a bus that was traveling north.
