A man of Cuban origin died around noon this Saturday after being shot in the neighborhood of Overtown, in northwest Miami.
The victim, identified as Eduardo Sánchez but whose age has not been made known, he was inside his vehicle, a few meters from his house, when he was hit by several shots, as revealed Telemundo 51 citing police statements as a source.
The incident occurred around 11:54 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment building located in the 365th block of northwest Calle Ocho.
"He was a humble person, willing to give up his last dollar and had a great sense of humor, just like me," said Jennifer, the victim's daughter, who was very shocked by her father's death when she arrived at the scene. .
Detectives were collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses at the scene.
Until now The police have not reported on the possible motives for the crime nor do they know that there have been any arrests or suspects for the murder.
Those who live in the area say they have heard gunshots before, but this was the first time they were so close.
"I was afraid to go out when I heard the gunshots, but I looked out the window and knew what was happening," said Theresa, a resident of the area, who then added that she imagines “that what happened was a targeted attack.”
