The state airline of the People's Republic of China, Air China, resumed Beijing-Havana flights with a stopover in Madrid, reported the Cuban Aviation Corporation.
In a note published in Facebook It is reported that "the air connection will resume as of May 17."
Air China will make two flights a week on the Beijing-Madrid-Havana route.
In May, flights will depart Beijing on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The announcement that the airline would restart flights to Havana was made at the beginning of April, two days after the end of the II International Transportation and Logistics Fair, which was held at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana, between April 3 and April 5, which was attended by executives from that Asian airline.
Since 2015, the commercial flights between Beijing and Havana, becoming at the time the only direct link between China and the Caribbean.
Three times a week, and with a flight duration of 20 hours, an Air China Boeing 777-300ER arrived at the José Martí International Airport, making a stopover in Montreal, Canada.
Even in 2017, an office of this airline was opened in the Cuban capital, with the purpose of promoting greater exchange in the tourism sector between both countries.
