A Cuban influencer, through a humorous sketch, reflected on the five requirements needed to live in today's Cuba; however, the published video has a surprising ending.
The young man, known by the name km_kandimal on the Instagram social network, recently posted a video in which he explains what is required to reside in the Caribbean nation.
"Who wouldn't want to live on this beautiful island?" the young man said sarcastically, and then he listed the five essential requirements for that adventure, according to him.
The first is to have someone abroad send food packages to Cuba; otherwise, "you're going to starve," he emphasized.
According to the influencer, the second point is again about having someone send money from another country: "If you aren't going to work, you'll never have a dime."
"You need someone abroad to send you a recharge," the young man pointed out as the third requirement. "Because every day you don't have 110 pesos to buy a mobile data package."
The fourth point is having someone from another country send you a generator "since there's never any power," the young man said on Instagram, referring to the worsening power outages in Cuba, a situation that only improves when small generators are available.
And as a surprise, the fifth requirement is to have, once again, someone abroad to send clothes and toiletries, "because that blouse you’re wearing has been with you since you were five, and that tube of toothpaste can’t take any more poking or squeezing.”
However, the most incredible part of the humorous sketch was saved for the end: “You need someone abroad to get you parole because this could go south at any moment...”.
While the portrayal of the young influencer invites laughter, it also masterfully highlights the situation in Cuba.
It also delves into the motivations that people find to confront the crisis, which can be summarized in one idea: having someone from outside to offer support.
