Cuban artist in the US sparks controversy with portrait of Fidel Castro and Adolfo Hitler

This talented young Cuban resides in the United States, but faces possible deportation for being an I-220B case. Look at his story.

Hanser Lopez, a young Cuban tattoo artist and artist living in Houston, United States, has generated extensive discussion on social networks with his most recent work, a portrait that fuses the figures of Fidel Castro and Adolf Hitler.

"Fitler" is a painting that has provoked reactions ranging from artistic admiration to indignation over the choice of historical figures.

Hanser, 29, is known for his controversial works that often touch on political and social issues. His immigration situation in the United States is complicated, because he is a Cuban emigrant with an I-220B case. He faces a supervised deportation order for entering the country illegally on two occasions.

Despite these adversities, the artist continues to use his art as a platform to express his vision of the world and provoke dialogue.

"Fitler" shows the faces of Castro and Hitler merged into a single image. It is a reference to how faces of authority, repression and absolute control can reflect the same idea, in different times and contexts.

The artist's intention is not to glorify these characters, but to provoke a reflection on how history and politics can be interpreted and remembered through art.

This piece could be part of a larger exhibition dedicated to the topic of migration and issues relevant to immigrants, which Hanser plans to debut soon in the United States.

A few months ago the young tattoo artist presented another work that generated a lot of debate on social networks. Is about "The power of the brush", a painting that contrasts two figures of American politics, Donald Trump and Joe Biden, who this year once again face each other in the campaign for the presidency.

"We are all governed by laws, but the person who has the privilege of making a work on a canvas can be the president of his own art... The only objective is to leave a reason for controversy in which everyone gives it an interpretation "said the artist.

This thought reflects the essence of art as a space of absolute freedom, where the creator becomes the maximum authority of his work. It is also a way to expand your voice and fight to remain in the United States. While he waits for calm to come into his life, his work continues to attract international attention.
