The Cuban ruler Miguel Diaz-Canel met in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, to whom he gave a letter of Raul Castro.
As Díaz-Canel revealed on his Twitter account, it was a "personal" letter that the Army General sent to the Kremlin leader.
The Cuban president reported that he had a "very pleasant meeting" with Putin as the culmination of his trip to Russia.
"It was a warm exchange, of friends who know well the challenges facing their respective nations and are committed to mutual support," he said.
"We share details of the current situation in Cuba in its confrontation with the intensified blockade, which has a hard impact on the daily lives of our people," he added.
Díaz-Canel said that he congratulated Putin on his new mandate at the head of the Russian Federation, with high popular support.
He also thanked him for being able participate in the celebrations for Victory Day, a date on which Russia celebrates the Soviet victory over fascism, which, according to the Cuban leader, "threatens to return."
"A fact that Western revisionists try to deny, grossly distorting history," he said.
At the time of writing this note, the presidential couple had already embarked on their return trip to Havana.
Díaz-Canel traveled to Moscow on Tuesday with his wife, Lis Cuesta Peraza, a visit that according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, had the objective of "addressing priorities of the bilateral agenda."
While, Dozens of Cubans reacted indignantly to the new trip and they recalled that while the ruling class spends thousands of dollars on tours, "here we are between blackouts and shortages."
"Those who travel the most, they must be selling clothes for sure, they spend their lives from plane to plane and the people in hunger and eternal misery," commented an Internet user in a publication of CyberCuba.
"Here we are Cubans on foot between blackouts, shortages of medicines, food at crazy prices and them spending dollars and euros," said another.
