A Cuban family residing in a mobile home park in Miami Gardens was the victim of a fire that left serious damage to their home, although fortunately there were no injuries.

Around five in the morning on Saturday, Pedro Fresnedo, his three-month pregnant wife, and the couple's four-year-old daughter woke up to the news that the fire was threatening their home.

The fire, which broke out in a mobile home park at 19-900 Northwest and 37th Avenue, allegedly started in an uninhabited house next to the house where the family of Cuban origin lived.

The firefighters took a while to arrive because they had to cut the main entrance to the mobile home park with a saw, according to Telemundo 51.

Fresnedo explained that his car exploded and that fragments of the vehicle hit the house door.

The Cuban explains that he spent a while pouring water on the door to prevent the worst.

“I went inside the house to throw water at the door until the car exploded and it was already complete,” he explained.

The Cuban says he did not have insurance, which complicates recovery.

“It was the house next door, it's not our fault. The manager says that we must take care of the expenses,” he explained.

Images released by the aforementioned media outlet reveal the state in which the house was left.

The family has faith that the property manager will help them while they recover from the unexpected blow. They ask that they be granted at least two months of free rent to recover.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
