“We take the security of our country very seriously and we will do everything possible so that those who are members of the repressive apparatus of the Cuban regime cannot benefit from measures that are to help the Cuban people. We encourage citizens to report cases like these,” indicated the source.
In telephone conversation with Pentón, Liván Fuentes insisted that he resigned from his political position from 2022.
“Everyone knows that I resigned from the position of president of the Assembly, I resigned from my position as deputy to the National Assembly, everyone knows that. Here in my community there is no one who agrees with what was done to me now," he said in reference to the revocation of his parole.
Just a few minutes before boarding the flight in Havana that would take him to the United States, Liván Fuentes was informed that his travel permit had been canceled.

The president of the Pinera Assembly He says that he did not participate in repressive acts against the people in the 11J protests and that he had nothing to do with that.
“Anyone you ask on the Isle of Youth about Liván will tell you that he is a guajiro who has worked and works for the people... not in retaliation for the people. I have never had a yes or a no with the people," he argued.
When summoned to his post on Twitter on August 13, 2022, in which he described Fidel Castro as “The Horse of Horses,” in commemoration of the late dictator's birthday, Liván excused himself by saying that after that he became disenchanted and came "a process of degradation due to disagreement with a group of issues."
"Issues that of course at the time I discussed, analyzed, evaluated," he added without mentioning many details.
When asked if he disagrees with economic measures imposed by the government, he said: "Of course, how can I not be?"
"I was transparent. I did not hide anything. I have evidence of why I resigned, I made it clear: because I did not agree with the first secretary of the Youth Island Party. I put that in my resignation letter , with courage with courage. In my case, what proof could the YouTuber have that at a certain moment Liván was a repressor on 11J?” he questioned.
Liván Fuentes Álvarez says that in the 11J protests on the Isle of Youth "practically nothing happened" and that, furthermore, everyone knows that The repressive acts are organized by the Communist Party and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), with his role as president of the Assembly of People's Power at most "laying out some buses in case they pick up someone."
Finally, Liván Fuentes says that in the United States they have missed the possibility of an exchange with him.
"They have lost the possibility of me explaining why at a certain moment I had a level of performance and now I am having another level of performance. They have lost that opportunity," he concluded.
Liván Fuentes Álvarez was president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power on the Isle of Youth between 2019 and 2022.
