Only one passenger on a plane from Nicaragua to Venezuela, with a stopover in Havana

Plane tickets are in high demand to Nicaragua, but people apparently never return to their home territories.

The Venezuelan airline Conviasa He returned to Caracas from Managua with only one passenger on board, the Korean tiktoker Lim Jae Jun, who has shared his unusual experience through social networks.

Lim, with more than two million followers on his profile TikTok Cocococococoloco, expressed some fear at finding himself alone during the four-hour flight to Caracas. This is a route that is usually full of travelers of various nationalities, but in the opposite direction, towards Nicaragua.

This flight is part of the Caracas, Havana, Managua air route, operated by the Venezuelan airline since May 5, with two weekly frequencies, every Tuesday and Sunday.

There is a high demand for migrants traveling to Nicaragua without a return ticket, with the sole intention of crossing the United States border.

Despite the increase in travelers to Nicaragua, return flights to Venezuela usually return almost empty, a situation that has sparked various speculations on social networks.

"Nicaragua and Venezuela. A single passenger... Is that not profitable? There's some surprise luggage there!"said a Korean follower on TikTok.

Another person responded: "It's going to be full of migrants to absurd prices heading to Nicaragua, when you return it comes back empty and they don't care, they already made the profit."

The governments of Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba have been allies for decades. They have strengthened this air route in the midst of a unprecedented migration crisis in the region.

The United States government approved in February sanctions directed at transport companies that facilitate the entry of irregular immigrants to Nicaragua.

The State Department warned, in a statement, that the new provision targets owners, executives and senior officials of air, land and maritime transportation companies.

He noted that the measure seeks to discourage the exploitation of vulnerable immigrants who are often victims of abusive prices and risk their lives in the attempt to reach US soil.

The peculiar situation of Lim Jae Jun flight to Caracas It highlights how migration dynamics currently work and shows that there are possible political interests behind airline operations in the region.
