It all started when the police received a call from a person reporting that their car had been stolen and that the GPS located it inside a workshop in Doral, located at 5161 Northwest and 79th Avenue.

After obtaining a search warrant, Doral police detectives managed to enter the site, as revealed America Camel, and there they found not one but three stolen cars.

"We entered there and identified three stolen cars: a Lamborghini, a Mercedes and an Aston Martín, all high-value cars."Edwin López, Doral police chief, said at a press conference.

At that moment they arrested the owner of the workshop, from whom they were able to obtain information about others involved and that is how they found Vera Morán.

Police reported they did it at least 18 times. Cars were stolen in Broward and Miami-Dade, then they painted them a different color, changed the VIN and registered them with the help of the defendant in order to resell or rent them.

In total there are six people arrested, but there could be more arrests in the future.

“There are more subjects that we have not yet arrested, but we hope in the coming days to identify other people who have also been involved in this situation,” said the Doral police chief, who indicated that many times they are using minors to steal cars

Of the 18 stolen vehicles, 12 have been recovered. All are luxury cars whose price is around 200 thousand dollars.

Authorities indicated that the total value of the recovered cars is about $3.6 million.

Police believe that the vehicles that could not be located may have been sold abroad.

Judge Mindy S. Glazer He imposed bail of $180,000 on Katherine Vera Morán, who remains detained in the TGK prison.

If bail is paid, the woman has to prove that the source of the money is legal, in addition to the fact that she would remain under house arrest.

The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office said in a statement that "fraudulent title transfers not only deceive the system, but cause profound harm to victims who suffer property loss and to insurance companies, which are forced to cover theft claims.”
