Restaurant owner catches thief inside his business in Miami.

The thief scoped out the store for several minutes before being discovered. He is the same person who broke in and stole $2,000 worth of beers, meats, and other products in December.

The owner of a restaurant in Miami detected a thief inside the premises and fearlessly confronted him.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday at El Jardín Latino, located on 32nd Street and 17th Avenue in northwest Miami.

The business owners were sleeping when they were woken up by the alert emitted by the surveillance cameras due to the presence of intruders. The man called 911 and immediately went to the place to prevent the criminal from getting away with it. Thanks to his determination, he managed to capture him.

The video, released by América TeVe, shows the thief with a handkerchief covering his face checking the cash register, taking items, and putting them into his backpack.

Then he can be seen raising his hands when the owner approaches with a stick in hand. The criminal walks backwards as the owner and a friend who joins in corner him. After a fight, the two managed to neutralize him.

The police arrived minutes later and arrested him.

He was later identified as Sergio Morales, 40 years old. The videos confirmed that he spent several minutes recording the entire restaurant before being discovered.

Silvia Batista, the owner's wife, recognized him as the same man who entered in December and stole about $2,000 worth of beers, meats, and other products.

Mike Vega, spokesperson for the Miami Police, explained that it seemed like he was under the influence of some narcotic.

During the fight, he suffered several injuries, so he was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for the wounds and then taken to jail, where he is facing charges of theft and other pending charges,'' he detailed.

Morales faces two charges of assault, one charge of robbery of a establishment, and another of robbery of tools and possession.

In El Jardín Latino, he only took $14 from the cash register, an e-cigarette, and seven lighters.
