A 22-year-old Cuban young man residing in the municipality of Alquízar, in the province of Artemisa, who was missing for several days, has been located.

This was confirmed a few hours ago by his father, Jorge Luis Cruz González, in response to an acquaintance who inquired about the case on social media.

In the comments section of the original publication, help was requested. Cruz González replied that her son appeared, although the original publication has not been updated so far, nor has it been deleted.

It was on May 13th that Jorge Luis Cruz turned to Facebook asking for help to locate his son Jaiser Ardiel Cruz Rosabal.

"Someone told me they have seen him in San Antonio de los Baños," the man stated on that occasion, providing a telephone number in case anyone had any information.

Reports of disappearances of Cubans are becoming more frequent in recent months, as well as the posting of requests for help on social networks to obtain information, all amid a context of increasing violence in the country.

However, many Cubans are beginning to complain that their relatives turn to social networks seeking help, and once their loved ones have appeared safe and sound, they do not even update to say that they have been found and are well, beyond reserving, with all their rights, details about the circumstances in which they appeared or the reasons why they were untraceable.

"It's just that they show up later and don't even update. It's not fair because one is human and identifies with the cases and worries," complained an internet user in one of the many groups where requests for information about missing persons are recurrently posted in a supportive manner.

Two recent cases reveal that the complaint is valid.

In recent days, several publications asking for help regarding the whereabouts of a woman named "Yeni" and residing in Boyeros, in Havana, and another one about Geannis Castillo Máximo, who had been last seen at a bus station in Holguín, were deleted without updating whether they had been found.

It is to be supposed that in both cases, such attitude is due to the fact that they were found safe and sound and wish to avoid public scrutiny, but many citizens consider it ethical to notify, without thereby betraying the principle of people's privacy.

Unfortunately, the search for another young mother, 24-year-old Karildi Marín, has been active for five months now. She has been missing since the night of December 14, 2023. On that day, the young woman, who resides in Párraga in the Havana municipality of Arroyo Naranjo, went to a party in El Cerro, and her family never heard from her again.

Also missing is Lali Paola Moliner, a three-year-old Cuban girl residing in the Bahía neighborhood, in the municipality of Habana del Este, whose whereabouts have been unknown since March 3, two months ago. In this case, the child was last seen in the company of her mother, whose body was found on March 4 on the coast of Cojímar.

The story of the teenager Maydeleisis Rosales Rodríguez, who disappeared almost three years ago in Havana, is also striking.
