Naples, a city in South Florida known for its beaches, luxury shops, art and culture, restaurants, family fun, and outdoor activities, is considered the best place to live in the United States in 2024-2025.
The ranking compiled by U.S. News' "Best Places to Live 2024-2025" places Naples in the first position, surpassing Boise (Idaho) and Colorado Springs (Colorado).
Also known as a recreational spot for wealthy retirees and "snowbirds," this area excelled in indicators related to convenience, quality of life, the job market, and the value among 150 major American cities.
"This includes crime rates, the cost of living, the job market, net migration, climate, the quality of education, and other aspects," the survey points out.
The publication evaluates other indicators such as personal preferences, proximity to family and friends, life stage, and professional opportunities in a specific field.
Naples achieved good results in the desirability index (nº 4), labor market (nº 3), and quality of life (nº 28). This combination placed it at the top of the ranking.
However, it obtained a low score on the value index due to the high cost of living.
The city also ranked prominently in some of the individual metrics that influenced the quality of life score: No. 4 in college readiness, No. 26 in well-being, No. 15 in air quality, and No. 12 for its low crime rate.
Naples, located in southwest Florida, has nearly 9 miles of white sand beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, and the city boasts sunny days for most of the year.
In the 150-item list, there are 14 cities from Florida.
However, Miami is ranked 123rd, the worst located in the state; despite being recognized as a "Magic City" with one of the most vibrant metropolitan areas in the United States and on track to become one of the largest international business centers in the world.
The low rating is mainly due to the high cost of living in Miami, which is above the national average, with housing being the most expensive investment.
