The Cuban Electric Union (UNE) predicts power outages throughout the day for this Wednesday, with the most significant impact expected during peak hours.

According to the post shared on Facebook, on Tuesday the service was affected due to a deficit in generation capacity 24 hours a day, and it could only be restored at 1:00 this morning. The maximum impact was 831 MW at 12:18 am.

This Wednesday, at 7:00 am, the availability of the National Electric Power System (SEN) was 2200 MW and the demand was 2150 MW, with the entire system in service. However, a maximum impact of 350 MW is expected during daytime hours.

During peak hours, an availability of 2320 MW and a maximum demand of 2900 MW are estimated, resulting in a deficit of 580 MW, leading to an impact of 650 MW.

At this moment, two units of the Felton and Rente thermoelectric plants are out of service due to breakdowns. Additionally, three blocks of the Santa Cruz and Felton CTEs are currently undergoing maintenance.

In addition, there are 45 distributed generation plants that are stopped due to fuel shortages (affecting 319 MW) and 435 MW due to limitations in thermal generation.
