Motorcycle driver seriously injured in accident on Central Highway in Granma.

The traffic accident was allegedly caused by the high speed at which the motorcyclist was driving, who collided with the containment posts in a curve on Central Highway, at the height of Jiguaní municipality.

The driver of a motorcycle suffered serious injuries after crashing into the poles on the Central Highway, as it passed through the municipality of Jiguaní, in the province of Granma, this Monday.

A report in the Facebook group "Bus & Truck Accidents for more experience and fewer victims!" reported on a traffic accident, allegedly caused by the high speed at which the motorcyclist was driving, which crashed into the road's containment barriers.

Central Highway in Jiguaní, entered the curve at excessive speed and crashed into the cement guardrails at the edge of the curve, the driver has serious injuries," wrote user Ernesto Guerra.

In the photo in the post, you can see the damage suffered by the motorcycle, a MZ brand. Due to the force of the impact, almost the entire front part, including the handlebars, suspension, and wheel, detached from the chassis.

The publication does not detail the driver's condition after the crash.

Traffic accidents have not let up on the country's roads and streets since the beginning of the year, maintaining the same trend as the previous one.

In 2023, 729 people lost their lives in Cuba as a result of traffic accidents. Authorities recorded 8,556 road crashes that left 5,938 injured. Human error was responsible for 91% of these incidents, authorities stated.
