People who know the occupants of the tanker truck confirmed that in the accident, the driver's assistant lost his life, while the driver himself suffered injuries, although at the time of publishing this note his health status has not been specified. The deceased lived in the rural community of La Güira and was "a great person," commented a user.

The pipe, as seen in the accompanying photo, was left destroyed after it veered off the road and fell into what appears to be a ravine.

The causes that led to the loss of control of the truck and other details of the fatal accident have not been revealed.

Traffic accidents have not stopped on Cuban roads and streets since 2024 began, continuing the trend that was already set the previous year.

An accident that occurred last Saturday in the province of Sancti Spiritus left three people injured after a bus overturned and ended up off the road. The bus was traveling on the route between the main city and the fishing community of Tunas de Zaza.

In 2023, 729 people lost their lives in Cuba due to road accidents, while 5,938 suffered injuries.

According to authorities, there were 8,556 traffic incidents and human error was responsible for 91% of these incidents.
