A Mexican woman recounts her experience visiting Cuba: "I burst into tears in a room."

"In this country, it's as if time had stopped," said the young woman.

A Mexican woman who visited Cuba shared on her TikTok account some of the moments that, she said, altered the chemistry of her brain.

The young woman, named Cristi, shared several photos in which she describes her experience on the island, where she had such intense experiences that one day she locked herself in the room all day crying because she wanted to return to Mexico, but her flight was scheduled for two days later.

According to their post, they were impressed by "going to restaurants and seeing limited menus, they can only sell you what they ask for once due to food shortages."

He also mentioned that he listens to the stories of Cubans "who dream of one day leaving their country, but for them, getting a passport is impossible."

Cristi mentioned that there was a moment when she ran out of the dollars she had brought and they would not accept the national currency or her cards. To make matters worse, the ATMs did not have any money.

The problems with Internet access also affected her, to the point that she was left without communication since she didn't have a SIM card for her phone and the telephone company refused to sell her one.

"I had to send my work and couldn't connect to the Internet at the place where I stayed, due to the scarcity and it was too crowded. I only had a bit of wifi on one floor where the reception was, but it still didn't work," he complained.

The tourist went to Varadero and found it to be an "incredible" place, but she realized that only visitors are treated well and locals are not allowed to socialize with them. "Too much discrimination," she lamented.

When she saw the level of scarcity, the young woman gave away some things like soap, creams, deodorant, but she left thinking she could have done more.

Despite the lack of resources, people are happy, which left me a lot to reflect on, since having everything, we spend our lives complaining; we should be more grateful," he considered.

A few days ago, another Mexican tourist had a similar experience in Cuba, where after visiting Havana and Varadero, she realized that the country is devastated and plunged into a serious economic crisis, with blackouts and shortages.

Irina Segura recounted on TikTok that as she moved away from the historic center of Havana, she found "many parts of the city completely destroyed," with buildings in a high level of deterioration.

In addition, in the restaurants she visited, they always explained to her which items from the menu she could eat and which ones were not available due to scarcity.

On one occasion, a waitress asked him to give her makeup, clothes, and hygiene products if he had only a few days left in Cuba.
