Cuban in Spain: "Let's not allow the socialism of Cuba and Venezuela to come here."

The Cuban fears that Spain will follow the same fate as his country and Venezuela if it allows socialism to gain strength.

A Cuban resident in Spain for 11 years delivered a strong message to the people, urging them not to allow socialism to take root in the European nation to avoid the consequences currently suffered by the inhabitants of Cuba and Venezuela.

"Cuba has been under a communist and socialist dictatorship for 64 years, and there hasn't been a change for the better; everything has gotten worse," said the 53-year-old man in a video posted on TikTok by the profile El Galán Hispano.

He mentioned the case of Venezuela, which despite the natural riches it possesses, the people suffer great poverty.

"I ask the Spanish people not to allow those examples to reach Spain," while urging them to think about the future of the European nation, especially for the upcoming generations.

"The dictatorship is already here," he said in relation to the government of Pedro Sánchez in Spain, a leader who last April debated whether to continue in the presidency or not, but finally announced that he would stay.

Spain is one of the countries that has received the most Cuban migrants in recent years.

The number of Cubans residing in that country reached a historical peak of nearly 200,000, according to the latest data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE) of the Iberian country corresponding to January 1, 2023.

Until that date, there were 198,639 people born in Cuba, of whom 73,548 had resident status.

This increase coincides with the worsening of the economic and political crisis on the Island, especially after the repression unleashed following the protests on July 11th (11J).
