A traffic accident between two motorcycles occurred Tuesday morning on the central Morro Road in the city of Santiago de Cuba.

The independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada published on Facebook that the impact occurred on Morro Road, between 11th and A streets, in front of the Virgen Felizola Sports Center.

One of the people involved is a military officer, and the other individual is the owner of a motorbike who, presumably, ignored the STOP signal," pointed out the reporter based on information provided by his followers.

In the comments section, several people emphasized that many times accidents in Santiago de Cuba involve motorcyclists.

A person named Mario López pointed out the poor condition of the streets, the lack of proper signage, and the small number of traffic lights as the cause.

Maria Leysi considered that these accidents occur to a large extent due to the reckless and irresponsible attitude of the drivers.

Last April, a similar accident occurred on Siboney Road, near the Iron Bridge, in the town of San Juan, and apparently one of those involved died at the scene.

A collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred last May in the Flores neighborhood, also in the city of Santiago de Cuba.

The driver of the car took the motorcyclist to the nearest hospital, as reported by eyewitnesses.
