The Cuban regime stated this Tuesday that Artemisa producers surpassed the plan for milk and beef delivery in the last three months thanks to control measures over livestock.

According to a report from the official newspaper Granma, in an investigation on large livestock conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, 42,783 violations were found, of which 4,443 were considered relevant, mainly related to mass control.

Alcides López Labrada, Agriculture delegate of the territory, reported that more than 5,000 measures were applied to offenders, with a 62% effectiveness rate. Among the actions, 915 fines were issued, totaling seven million pesos.

Since then, out of the 767,600 liters of milk that the farmers from Artemisa were supposed to deliver to the industry in the period from March 1st to May 10th, 799,800 have been received, exceeding the plan by 4.19%, stated the official.

On the other hand, the delivery of beef also increased to 322,000 tons, from the 295,000 tons originally planned.

"The official said that the causes of having 674 livestock tenants, accounting for 9.53%, diverting food (milk) to non-prioritized destinations are being investigated."

López Labrada pointed out that there are still municipalities that do not increase the delivery of milk, such as Alquízar, Guanajay, Artemisa, and Mariel.

While Alquízar, Artemisa, and Güira de Melena do not meet their meat delivery quotas.

For years, the Cuban regime has had problems ensuring milk for children and other prioritized sectors, to the extent that last February it sought official assistance from the World Food Program (WFP) to address issues in distributing dairy to children under the age of seven in the country.

Likewise, meat has become a luxury for families. Two weeks ago, activist Aníbal Ferrand walked the streets of Baracoa, asking people when was the last time they ate beef, thus revealing the impact of the economic crisis on the population's food in this city.

Ferrand, who usually showcases daily life in the eastern city on his social media, concluded that many people barely remember what it's like.beefTranslate the following text to English: .
