Cuban wins second place in Pizza World Championship in Argentina.

This Cuban pizza master has competed in other international competitions, winning important awards for Cuba.

Cuban Miguel Sánchez won the second prize on Wednesday at the World Pizza Championship held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It is the first time that pizza masters from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Italy, Uruguay, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Senegal, Sweden, and Venezuela compete in a Latin American country to win this gastronomic award.

The Pizza and Empanada World Cup had several competition categories. More than 174 chefs participated.

The first place was conquered by the Argentine Daniel Gabrielli, becoming the World Pizza Champion. He won the trip to Parma, Italy, to compete in the 32nd edition of the World Pizza Championship in 2025. The third place went to the Venezuelan pizza maker Diego Borges.

This first World Championship allowed the inclusion of different categories and specialties of pizza that are already internationally recognized. The classic mozzarella pizza and the fugazzeta were the stars," said Lorena Fernández, president of the Association of Pizzerias and Empanada Houses of Argentina (APYCE).
