The renowned British chef Gordon Ramsay visited Cuba amidst the ongoing food crisis the country is facing, in search of authentic cuisine and the island's flavors.

The segment of the show dedicated to Cuban cuisine is generating quite a buzz on social media, as some internet users claim that the chef will present an unrealistic image of Cuba.

His trip to Havana was part of the fourth season of the television series "Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted," produced by National Geographic.

The Cuban episode will air on June 16, showcasing Ramsay immersing himself in the island's rich culinary culture, featuring ingredients that are not commonly consumed by locals due to the extremely high cost of food in the country.

"In search of authentic Cuban cuisine," Ramsay travels to various places on the island. In a curious scene that might be perceived as both surreal and humorous within the Cuban context, the chef had to jump into the sea to catch his fresh ingredients and prepare them using local culinary techniques.

This famous chef is known for his passionate approach, versatility in the kitchen, and his casual way of presenting dishes, making seemingly easy recipes that are true delights.

However, in the case of his visit to Havana, more than one Cuban would like to see him cook with what is actually in the refrigerators of family homes.

There is great anticipation to see the program, as Ramsay will explore the markets in Cuba that are often empty. The goal is to highlight the creativity and ingenuity of local cuisine, but many people doubt that the chef will provide a genuine critique of the food situation in the country.

In Cuba, an increasing number of people are living without access to essential food items such as bread, coffee, milk, eggs, fish, meat, and vegetables. Recently, UNICEF acknowledged that 9% of Cuban children are suffering from severe food insecurity.

"Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted" is a culinary adventure series in which the chef travels to remote locations around the globe in search of inspiration and unforgettable experiences. It premiered on July 21, 2019, and is directed by Jon Kroll.

The series has captured the attention of food and travel enthusiasts. In the fourth season, Ramsay explores not only Cuba but also the ancient culinary traditions of Spain and Hawaii.

Ramsay is famous for his shows "Kitchen Nightmares" and "MasterChef." He also has a cooking show featuring recipes with just five ingredients, which is a must-watch if you're Cuban and need to optimize your kitchen supplies.
